Lelie Cristea, born into a family of professional musicians started her career at the early age of three years, studying with her father Ion-Henry Cristea, outstanding violinist, professor and former concertmaster of the Vienna Chamberopera. Until today these studies have the greatest impact on her technical and musical skills.
Lelie’s Diplomas include a pre-college at the University of Arts Rostock, a program for young gifted musicians, followed by her studies with Prof. Mintcho Mintchev at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, which she completed successfully in the year 2013.
Always inspired by new ways to interpret and full of curiosity, Lelie also had private lessons with Prof. Pavel Vernikov and masterclasses with other renowned Violinists as Prof. Stefan Gheorghiu, Prof. Andreas Reiner, Prof. Ingolf Turban and Vadim Gluzman.
Despite her classical education, Lelie has the vision to combine different genres in her repertoire to create art that has the possibility to bring music lovers together and to make curious for the unknown. By interpreting fresh and fun Soundtracks like “Pirates of the Caribbean” or “Lalaland” (together with her sister) followed by the virtuoso and melodically classical pieces , culminating in a brilliant performance of Pulp Fiction – “Misirlou” or Michael Jackson´s “Smooth Criminal”, she performs a repertoire that is rich in variety and absolutely captivating.
