Liam Austin Pitcher (born December 23, 1993) is a South African composer, musician, music teacher and electronic music producer from Cape Town, South Africa.
Active musically since 2007 under multiple aliases, he is known for blending elements of classical, electroacoustic and electronica, as well as his distinctive piano improvisations.
Liam's style of EDM production has been compared to that of Seven Lions, and contains elements of a multitude of artists across many styles. He is one of the most internationally played EDM producers in South Africa, and one of the 20 most followed pianists on Instagram.
Pitcher’s signature electronic style can be summarised as polystylistic fusion of electronica, western classical, and electroacoustic music.
He also produced a variety of styles of EDM as Embrace One & earlier, White Noize.
His electronic art music can be compared to that of Adam Juraszek & Nicholas Bernier.
His music incorporates a wide range of influences. He grew up reciting & studying works from Franz Liszt, J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, & Frederic Chopin. His styles and influences in EDM are most notably Xilent & Seven Lions, however his music is very much polystylistic, often combining and drawing from multiple styles. Pitcher also cites Karlheinz Stockhausen, Hendrik Hofmeyr, Gabriel Faure, Maurice Ravel as direct influences in his classical compositions.
